The Starclassic Performer B/B utilises the best of bubinga and birch. Three inner plies of bubinga provide a deep, low-end fundamental with a high-end bite. The 4-ply birch provides more focus on the highs, with a reduced midrange and enhanced bottom-end punchiness. Quite often, birch is employed to produce a tighter, controlled character, which has resulted in a reputation among recording engineers as being naturally EQ'd. The result is a biting, aggressive attack with plenty of low-end punch and resonance. Excellent for rock music, complex enough to work with any style.
Hoops affect durability, tuning and drum sound. Tama's zinc die-cast hoops are made by injecting molten metal into moulds. This provides more density and consistent shape than triple flanged hoops. This makes for easier and more consistent tuning, as well as providing crisper attack and more resonant highs.
Tama's innovative Star-Cast mounting system maximises the drums natural resonance while providing support at four separate points on the batter side hoop of the drums. It allows you to position your toms closer together for more comfort and is plated to match your drums shell hardware.
The new Starclassic Performer B/B now comes with Tama's MTH1000 tom holder. This provides unmatched flexibility in positioning your tom drums, with an Omni-Ball tilter for secure positioning at almost any angle.
With up to 40 years within the drum industry, Tama has developed a unique brand that prioritises both great tonal quality and outstanding aesthetics.
