The Power of Thrash Factor Pickups

The Epiphone Dave Mustaine Flying V Custom features Seymour Duncan® Thrash Factor pickups that were designed in close collaboration with Dave Mustaine. During the recording of one of his albums, Dave relied heavily on a guitar loaded with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and 59 model in the neck. To recreate the tone and feel of his favourite JB, the winding process was altered to achieve the tone he was looking for.

The result is a custom set that includes Dave's preferred neck pickup, the SH-1n 59 model, in matching matte finish, and the Dave Mustaine Signature Thrash Factor high-output passive humbucker pickup. These pickups are hand-built in Santa Barbara, California and have become an integral part of Dave's signature sound. Compared to the standard JB model, the Thrash Factor's low end is tighter, the mids are slightly scooped, and the highs are more aggressive. With these pickups, the Epiphone Dave Mustaine Flying V Custom delivers exceptional sound quality and superior playability that is perfect for heavy metal enthusiasts.
