Lightweight Hollow Body

The Gibson ES-335 '58 features a 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body, delivering a bright, precise tone with a beautifully balanced response. In addition, a pair of traditional ''F'' sound holes are also included, offering a classic appearance while delivering a stunning resonance and enhancing its harmonic richness. The ES-335 is also equipped with a thermally engineered quarter sawn Adirondack spruce bracing to project a vintage tonality, while its thermally engineered maple centreblock improves the body’s stability to reduce unwanted feedback and deliver a clean sustain. The VOS (Vintage Original Spec) finish recreates the natural fading vintage Gibson's would feature, providing each instrument with its own distinctive look and character.

Quatersawn Mahogany Neck

Coupled with the lightweight body is a quartersawn mahogany neck, offering a beautifully natural grain which adds to the ES-335’s stunning aesthetic. The mahogany tonewood provides players with an incredibly focused midrange, enhancing the overall tone with a thick, meaty, and organic character that works well with a variety of playing styles and musical genres. Its well-balanced sound and excellent dynamic range delivers nice overtones with a crisp response and clear, bright highs. The neck also features a rounded '58 profile, offering an incredibly comfortable playing experience and a vintage feel.

Rosewood Fingerboard with Rolled Binding

The addition of a dark rosewood fingerboard infuses the Gibson ES Hollowbody with a sweet, mellow characteristic, offering a thick low end and striking high end that will suit a wide variety of playing styles. The natural finish of the dark rosewood provides a smooth playing surface, while the addition of medium jumbo frets provides comfortable slides and note bends. The neck and fingerboard is finished with rolled binding, providing a rounded off feel and delivering a comfortable performance.

MHS Humbucking Pickups

Loaded with two hand-wired PAF-style MHS humbucking pickups, the ES-335 '58 delivers a vintage style tone with an airy and biting response. Featuring unbalanced coils and Alnico II magnets with an under wound design, the MHS pickups are perfect for a variety of styles and offer a detailed and articulate response. Coupled with these powerful pickups is Gibson’s MTC Historic control setup, featuring matching 550k pots and bumblebee capacitors which have been hand wired to ensure they deliver the ultimate performance.

ABR-1 Bridge

The Gibson ES-335 Hollow Body features a sturdy ABR-1 bridge and aluminium stopbar, offering incredible string stability and a truly comfortable performance. Its high-quality construction makes it extremely reliable, holding onto the string tension while maximising the transfer of vibrations for an enhanced sustain and vintage tone. The bridge also offers quick and easy adjustments to the action, allowing you to set the perfect intonation for your playing style.

Classic Nylon Nut

Just like the guitars from Gibson’s golden era of ''burst'', the ES-335 ’58 features a nylon nut to add to its vintage style. Nylon is a very hard material and remains slick, resulting in an enhanced tuning stability and eliminating 'pings' and hangups. While nylon nuts are typically stronger than bone, plastic, and tusq nuts, it still can deliver an improved sustain and adds its own unique character to the overall sound.

Gibson Memphis Series

Every Gibson Memphis Guitar receives an ultra-precise Plek Pro setup, which optimises the fingerboard and nut for perfect action and intonation. Gibson's world-class luthiers took painstaking care with every detail of the ES-355, including fine touches like matched 550k potentiometers, bumblebee capacitors, an ABR-1 bridge, and a stunning VOS nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
