The Ghoul Screamer is the result of a collaboration between Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and KHDK Electronics. Designed as a multipurpose overdrive pedal, the Ghoul Screamer is a supercharged take on tube screamer pedals, delivering a rage of controls to create clean boosts to massive amounts of overdrive. The pedal features 5 different switches that enhance the pedals sound palette, offering control over the essential components of the pedals EQ, dynamics, and pick sensitivity.
The Ghoul Screamer is a multipurpose overdrive pedal built to accommodate a range of playing styles, and so features a selection of powerful controls and switches to enhance the pedals sound palette. The pedal features drive, volume, and tone controls to adjust the Ghoul Screamers effect, and 5 switches to provide further tweaking, allowing you to get the perfect overdrive for your sound
The drive control adjusts the pedals gain stage to create a range of overdrives. Set to a low setting will provide the pedal with a clan boost that has an excellent mid hump characteristic. When set to a higher setting, the drive produces an incredibly distorted tone with loads of harmonics, compression and power.
The volume control adjusts the level of output the pedal has, allowing you to dial in as much overdrive you desire without affecting your guitar or amp.
The active high-frequency tone control can be used to either cut or boost the pedal’s high end. When boosted, the pedal delivers a raw, aggressive sound that can cut though the mix. When the highs are cut, the pedal provides a mellow, warm tone.
The bass switch is designed to enhance the low frequencies when flicked on, providing a thicker tone. When used, the bass switch adds a massive bottom end to the effect, perfect for instruments that have a sharp tone with a weak output.
The highs switch expands the tone’s potentiometer, allowing the pedal to reach higher frequencies. When switched to the on position, the highs switch enhances the brilliance and clarity of the tone’s quality, helping with instruments that have less sharp tones to be heard.
The pedals body switch improves the tonal response in the midrange and helps enhance the tightness and penetration of the tone when mixed. This switch is incredibly effective when used on low tuned, or seven string guitars.
Two compression switches are added to the pedal, allowing for a range of compression to be added, depending on your instrument and playing style. When using the low compression setting, the pedal offers a soft, warm compression that’s like vintage pedals. Set to a higher setting, the pedal delivers transparent tone with aggressive expression that’s rich in harmonics. For the best of both worlds, the medium compression setting provides an excellent balanced blend of the two.
