The Gibson ES-335 '63 2018 features a 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body, delivering a bright tone with a balanced response. In addition, a pair of traditional ''F'' sound holes are also included, and not only offer a classic appearance, but deliver resonance and enhanced projection. The ES-335 '63 also has quarter sawn adirondack spruce bracing that offers a vintage tonality. As well as this, the ES-335's silver leaf maple centerblock makes the instrument semi-hollow whilst reducing feedback and increasing sustain. Finished with an attractive sixties cherry finish, the ES-335 not only sounds superb but looks extremely impressive.
Neck & Fingerboard
Constructed from mahogany, the ES-335's neck offers a familiar warmth with a quick and dynamic response. A mid-60s neck profile is also included, which allows for fluid hand flexibility across the whole fingerboard. Additionally, the neck's binding is rounded-off, offering a comfortable fit to the contours of your hand. Coupled with a rosewood fingerboard, you can achieve a warm tone with added clarity and a natural feel. Furthermore, its rosewood fingerboard is topped with iconic block inlays for added aesthetic appeal.
MHS Humbucking Pickups
Loaded with two hand-wired MHS humbucking pickups, the Gibson ES-335 delivers a vintage tone with an airy response. Featuring unbalanced coils and Alnico II magnets with under wound design, the MHS pickups are perfect for a variety of styles and offer a detailed and articulate response. Coupled with these powerful pickups is Gibson’s MTC Historic control setup, featuring matching 550k pots and black beauty capacitors which have been hand wired to ensure they deliver the ultimate performance.
Classic Gibson Styling
The Gibson ES-335 '63 is decorated with a full host of classic appointments that make it instantly recognisable. These include black top hat control knobs with silver inserts, kluson double ring keystone buttons, 5-ply black pickguard and its elegant double cutaway design. ABR Bridge
The Gibson ES-335 guitar features an ABR-1 bridge, offering incredible string stability. Its high-quality construction makes it extremely reliable, holding onto the string tension while maximising the transfer of vibrations for an enhanced sustain and vintage tone.
Classic Nylon Nut
Nylon is a very hard material and remains slick. This results in enhanced tuning stability and eliminates 'pings' and hangups. While nylon nuts are typically stronger than bone, plastic, and tusq nuts, it still can deliver an improved sustain and adds its own unique character to the overall sound.
