The Fulltone 2B pedal provides you with a clean boost that can be used to set a volume jump for guitar solos or alternatively to push a tube amp into increased saturation. It can also be left on all the time, giving you subtle compression and maximum dynamic range whilst clipping the harshest transients from your signal. This is a pedal which can musically respond to valve amps and your playing and maximise your tone and playing feel, no matter how you choose to use it.
The 2B includes a unique dynamic control which can be used to boost your overall signal like a compression pedal, whilst removing the harsh transients from hitting your amplifier and creating fatiguing volume jumps. It is created with a high quality germanium diode limiter circuit. This makes it a highly responsive and sympathetic pedal, acting to smooth out your playing like a sonic maximiser and pad out the signal for increased sustain.
The 'true bypass' functionality is hotly contested for its usefulness in guitar effects chains. With the 2B, the pedal boost acts as a set gain level, and requires a unity gain level when the pedal is off. If you don't have a buffer in the circuit, this unity gain can be wildly affected by the use of other pedals and by long cable runs. The 2B provides a JFET unity gain buffer to drive long cable lengths and prevent tone-suck, meaning you'll have a reliable unity gain level to work with.
