The RG970WQMZ features a strong and sturdy American basswood body topped with stunning quilted maple, creating an exotic appearance which will stand out from any crowd. Smooth 5-Piece Wenge/Bubinga Wizard Neck

The guitar’s neck is crafted from wenge and bubinga, offering more strength and stability than single wood neck to prevent warping and bending for extensive performances. Using two tonewoods together provides players with a combination of stunning tonal qualities and sonic enhancements, as well as an amazing aesthetic quality. While the wenge enhances the Ibanez’s sustain and projection, the bubinga’s incredibly rich sound adds plenty of warmth and glassy ring to the overall tone. The Ibanez RG series guitar features a set of DiMarzio’s IBZ pickups, which are made specifically for Ibanez guitars and deliver a beautifully balanced tone suitable for a variety of playing styles. With humbuckers at the bridge and neck, and a single-coil in the middle, the RG970WQMZ produces a vivid, easy-to-control tone with a high output. While the neck humbucker prodcues a bright sound, the bridge pickup offers more volume and warmth for delivering crushing leads and solos. The single-coil pickup is also designed with a warmer tonality than typical vintage single-coils, offering clear, well-balanced characteristics which complement the neck and bridge pickups.

Edge Zero II Tremolo

The Ibanez Edge Zero is a high performance double locking tremolo first introduced in 2010, featuring similarities with both the Lo-Pro Edge tremolo and the original Floyd Rose Tremolo. This design created a unique and extremely versatile floating tremolo system which provides an added range of playing capabilities and improved tuning stability. For the Edge Zero II model, Ibanez designed it with a lower profile to improve comfort, and added a stud locking function for superior tuning stability.
