Voice Step Sequencer

The Roland Boutique VP-03 Vocoder features a new Voice Step Sequencer (not present with the original VP-330) which provides you with 16 steps to input a single note, chord, or even your own voice, with each step comprising up to six notes. You can then go further to adjust the order of the steps within the sequence to create an unpredictable sequence with unique rhythms. USB connectivity allows you to save your favourite sequences to your computer using the backup and restore function.

External Microphone Connection

The Roland VP-03 features a full-size XLR Mic input for connection of an external microphone device, however a gooseneck XLR microphone is included with the VP-03 to allow you to capture voices and sounds to filter and shape the onboard synthesized sounds. Other available I/O includes standard MIDI IN/OUT ports and a Micro-B USB connection that handles both audio and MIDI data. These can be used for connecting external gear of your choice.

Increased Versatility

The Roland Boutique VP-03 Vocoder also functions as a high-quality 24-bit/96 kHz audio interface to provide a simple and effective way of recording straight to your DAW. With a choice of USB or battery power, the VP-03 functions just as well on the road as in the studio. 4 x AA batteries provide the VP-03 with sufficient power, or alternatively you can connect to a USB power source to use USB bus power. With batteries installed, the VP-03 weighs in at just 940 g/33 oz.

Compatible Products

The VP-03 is also compatible with Roland Boutique accessories including the K-25m keyboard unit and the DK-01 Dock. The K-25m Keyboard Unit accessory allows you to attach a 25-note keyboard to your VP-03 to unlock a new level of musical creativity and take your production making to the next level. The keyboard unit is simple to attach, just place the VP-03 into the K-25m unit and adjust the VP-03 module to your choice of 3 different positions to provide easier access to the front panel controls of the VP-03. Then simply connect your microphone and you are ready to start producing.

Advanced Chord Memory Function

The Roland VP-03 also includes a new Chord Memory function which provides you with instant playback options for your chords with just one finger. There are 16 available locations so you can quickly and easily restore your favourite chords using one of the 16 built-in step buttons. You have the ability to create your own chords and save them to your desired location, wherever it most convenient for you. The USB connection also lets you save and backup your chords to your computer.
