A powerful amp for passive monitors

Despite most studio setups incorporating active and powered monitoring systems, you may prefer to use passive speakers to create and mix your music. If you own a passive monitoring system, chances are you need a linear amplifier to power your speakers without interrupting or distorting the input signal. Providing superior sound quality, the SLA-2 is a 200 Watt, two-channel linear studio power amplifier with four multi-way binding post outputs that support standard speaker cables. On the front panel are two recessed "pop out" gain attenuators that can be pre-set and then shielded with an included anti-tamper faceplate. Utilising toroidal transformers, the SLA 1 has a frequency range response of 10Hz to 40kHz.

Versatile and innovative design

To reduce interference and protect it from short circuits, the ART SLA 1 is constructed with extremely low noise components and signal isolating circuitry, an ultrasonic network decouples RF from the output to provide stability and prevent overloading with reactive loads. Additionally, the SLA 1 is extremely stable with low impedance loads. it can support loads as low as four Ohms, allowing you to connect a wider range of equipment that output quieter signals. With two different operating modes, you can bridge channels one and two to obtain either stereo mode or bridged mono mode, which delivers the full power of the amp in an 8 Ohm load. Featuring two female XLR sockets and two TRS jack inputs, you can connect almost any instrument or interface to the SLA 1 with ease and utilise the amp mode switch to change the amplifier operating mode.

Intelligent SmartFan cooling

Linear amplifiers maintain signal purity and integrity from the input to the output speaker, to do this they draw a lot of power and the resulting accumulated heat from this can cause immediate and long-term hardware issues. To combat this the SLA 1 utilises SmartFan, a thermal-dependent fan and convection cooling system that regulates the temperature of the amplifier based it's the internal ambient heat, to prevent the unit from overheating and malfunctioning. Powered by an IEC cable and turned on/off with a switch on the front, the SLA 1 is incredibly easy to set up and use. Taking up only 1U of rack space, this compact, high-quality, and no-nonsense amplifier is the perfect tool to power your passive speakers in any studio or commercial application.
