Cubase 7 offers more musical features than ever before making this version of the software more creative, easier to use and better sounding than any of its predecessors.

MixConsole

The brand new MixConsole is simple to use and looks and sounds better than anything before. Adjusting itself to both notebook screens and larger displays, MixConsole features total scalability and quick access to parameters most relevant to your task allowing you to work faster than ever before. Its flexible channel layout, 12 dB boost and dedicated processing power per channel, exceptional feel and comprehensive online automation tools mean this new feature provides uncompromising quality and usability.

Diehard users will appreciate the new workflow improvements which will be of huge benefit to those professionals working regularly with the mixer. Highlights include A/B comparison and global bypass for audio effects, a plug-in search as well as drag and drop support.

Cubase Channel Strip

The new channel strip in Cubase 7 gives that pro-console sound that enables your songs to be turned into professional, radio-ready productions. Top producer Allen Morgan has crafted 150 channel strip presets, 150 track presets and many FX chain presets. The redesigned Channel Settings window gives you instant access to all channel parameters. There's no need for scrolling as the display follows you automatically and updates each time you adjust controls on a different channel. Precise measuring of loudness levels also ensures you deliver audio which complies to the EBU R128 loudness standard if needed.

Remote Control

Cubase 7's Remote Control Editor allows you to use hardware controllers with the software and visually customise the parameters of individual effects and instruments on your control surface. The Remote Control Editor supports Avid System 5 MC, Avid Artist Series, Mackie Control, Steinberg Houston, WK-Audio's ID, Yamaha DM2000 and more right out of the box. Cubase 7 also includes the full version of Voxengo's CurveEQ, a versatile 64-band spline EQ.

Musically Intuitive

The Chord Track function can detect the harmony structure of your song and feedback chord and scale information. All tracks engaged to follow will automatically reflect any harmonic adjustments made! Chords can either be generated with the mouse, a MIDI keyboard or generated automatically from existing MIDI parts in the project.

The new VariAudio 2.0 will also let you enter single notes and then harmonise them later on or working with Chord Track it can harmonise against lead vocals creating beautifully composed choral arrangements.

The intelligent composition assistance, Chord Assistant can help you generate everything from pop, rock or jazz chord sequences that sound effortlessly amazing. Or perhaps you know your start and finish chords but need help filling in the gaps. Chord Assistant can suggest suitable progressions for you to choose from. There are also new Hybrid Expansion packs for HALion Sonic SE, new drum samples and patterns and a host of quality MIDI loops taken directly from Sequel.

Cubase 7 Makes Music Easier

Cubase 7 has introduced a range of new tools that will make your life easier. Steinberg VST Connect SE allows musicians to connect with other Cubase 7 users around the world giving you the freedom to collaborate with others who aren't in the same location as you with video feed, talkback and chat functions making working together easy. A new search engine lets you find tracks fast and MemZap lets you switch back and forth between points in your project - fuss free - whenever you like.

The new ASIO Guard technology prevents drop outs so you can focus only on your sound. A safe start mode allows you to disable custom preferences temporarily and restart Cubase with factory settings if corrupted or outdated application settings lead to lock ups.
