SSL 360° V1.4 update – updated plugins and more!

The new update available for the UF8 and UC1 controllers features a whole range of enhancements and new features including updated versions of the Channel Strip 2 and 4K B plugins. The two plugins can now utilise a range of new functions including Follow selected DAW track, DAW Solo and Mute integration in Studio One, Live and REAPER. Channel Strip 2 also includes new Pan, Width, Compressor Mix, HQ Mode (oversampling) and an updated GUI.

The update also includes support for Merging Technologies' PYRAMIX and Universal Audio LUNA digital audio workstation (DAW) platforms the new profiles for both. The SSL 360° plugin has also been revamped with a new GUI with a range of new upgrades including the ability to control the plugin mixer transport from your computer keyboard. Last but not least, SSL have also included a 6-month subscription to SSL Complete, giving you access to all of SSL's plugins.

SSL sound and workflow

Delivering the most accurate and detailed modelling to date, the Bus Compressor 2 and Channel Strip 2 plugins have been developed from the modelling of the renowned XL 9000K console, providing you with everything you need achieve sonic perfection in your DAW. Using original data sheets and specifications, the UC1 includes SSL's proprietary anti-cramping algorithms as well a hugely detailed component level recreation to create the best sounding SSL Channel strip ever, with all of the punch and headroom you need to create pristine, radio-ready music!

Authentic console controls

Precision engineered and meticulously designed, the UC1 has the authentic SSL layout and metering to feel like you're controlling the hardware counterpart. Intelligently talking back and forward, the UC1 and your Bus Compressor 2 plugin show your gain reduction meter using a classic moving-coil meter as found on traditional SSL consoles, letting you know the time constants and gain reduction amount of your instruments, groups and mix bus!

Intuitive and lightning fast

Ensuring that you are always in control of your mix, the UC1 features dedicated front panel encoders and an onboard high-resolution display to feedback how your mix is reacting with the adjustments you make. Quickly move between instances of Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 directly from the surface, avoiding any unnecessary mouse-clicking and time-consuming loading times. Not only that, but you can also load presets as well as alter the Channel Strip process to re-arrange how your channel strip reacts with your music, control your UC1 with ultimate freedom without even needing to consult your DAW.

The brains and command centre behind the UC1, the SSL 360 application is a cross-platform application for both Mac and Windows. DAW integration

Compatible with most major DAWs including Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live, Studio One and Reaper, the UC1 will be able to work around you and your studio.
