Design Influenced by Guarneri del Gesu

The most well-known and sought after violins are probably the Stradivarius models. However, the lesser known and arguably more prized instruments are those made by the Guarneri family. A family of luthiers based in Cremona, Italy in the 17th and 18th century, famed for their darker sound in comparison to the Stradivarius designs. They have been favoured by performers like Niccolo Paganini.

Yamaha Replicate

Yamaha have beautifully replicated this model to look just like those made by the Guarneri family, with similar favoured qualities. This violin is capable of achieving rich harmonious tones and has a melodious upper register, however the YVN100G still has enough definition to enable clear and alive sounds throughout all the registers. Crafted by the same skilled craftsmen as the 200 series these violins deliver exceptional quality at an affordable price.

Solid Wood Construction and Aubert Bridge

This professional instrument boasts some finely selected spruce and maple woods to go into the body of this instrument. The solid hand crafted body gives a beautiful resonance, particularly in the middle register, which gives this instrument it's warm and rich sound. A deluxe Aubert bridge has been included with this violin, making sure that the sound from the strings is transferred as best as possible to the body. On this violin, an ebony fingerboard has been used, along with softer and more lightweight boxwood pegs, tailpiece and chinrest.

Wittner Components and Dominant Strings

The Yamaha YVN100G comes with high quality components that you would expect from a professional instrument. A Wittner Hill type gold fine tuner has been added, a company that make top class components for string instruments. As well as this, top quality dominant strings have been added to the instrument and the E string features a professional gold brokat string.

Ebony Fingerboard

Ebony is best known for the clear and crisp attack it produces - often brighter than maple. It's got a comparable density to maple, however ebony has oilier pores and extra brittle grains. This material has a very smooth, quick playing quality because it doesn't require any finish.
