Key Features
This is digital drumming redefined. For too long drummers have lamented the lack of realism in electronic drum kits. But with our DD470x's unique technology, the gap between virtual and acoustic drums has been bridged like never before.
Unlike most electronic kits, the DD470x features non-contact sensor technology which adds new levels of realism to electronic drumming. The unique, magnetic sensors convert the user's playing vibrations into digital information, which better reflects the intricacies of your drumming - either using the inbuilt sounds or triggering your favourite VSTs.
The kit's vast selection of inbuilt sounds and custom options further empower its user to create a personal virtual drum statement. Requiring very little space for setup, the compact and portable DD470x allows for maximum drum expression with a simple and powerful module.
Included with this kit is a set of HP-210 stereo headphones, a pair of 5A wood tip drumsticks, a high quality drum stool, 6m jack cable and the sideKIK Personal Musician's Amp with Bluetooth by Gear4music.

The DD470x's high-quality mesh drumheads offer excellent levels of response and feel - the closest you'll get to acoustic drum skins. Additionally, the cymbal and drum pads benefit from dual-zone technology, meaning you can fully experiment with your playing style. With increased variation - including rim shots and cymbal chokes - you can express yourself as much as you would on a traditional acoustic kit.
The DD470x offers a fulfilling and authentic drumming experience whether you're in the studio, performing live, or practising. A thin strip of magnetic film sits between the drums' dual-ply mesh heads. Vibrations caused by playing are then detected by the kit's unique, non-contact sensory technology. This is used to translate your performance into digital information with improved accuracy. Highly responsive, this patented technology provides a much more detailed playing experience than most off-the-shelf kits.
Refine your skills with structured training. Whether you're perfecting a tricky drum fill for the studio, or practising a full track before a gig, the DD470x's Coach Mode is a useful ally. Its inbuilt metronome will help you improve your rhythm and timing in a controlled environment. And with 38 play-along songs, each track can be slowed down to allow you to rehearse in closer detail.
The DD470x's powerful sound module features 10 fully-customisable preset kits, as well as 203 individual percussion sounds. This vast onboard sound library gives you endless choices for gigging, recording, and practice. When gigging, you can connect the line output to an amp or mixer. For practice, there's a handy AUX input for playing along with your favourite tracks, while its headphone output means you can rehearse without disturbing others - play at all hours of the day.
You can get even more out of the DD470x by connecting it to a computer or sound module. Drum with your full selection of VST and MIDI samples, or play and record in your favourite DAW - connected via MIDI or USB. Working with both Windows PCs and Apple Macs, the DD470x is completely plug and play.
With its compact, lightweight design, it's easy to get the DD470x around. When you're not using it for a while, or packing it into the back of a car, its easily collapsible design allows for quick and easy storage. This doesn't mean that the kit isn't sturdy, though. Its drum pads are connected by strong, 4-pin locking connectors that won't come loose mid-gig or during rehearsal.
The sideKIK is really clever. It features Gear4music’s ‘Immersive Sound Technology’ (or IST) to give you the perfect sound for a large variety of applications. The inclusion and positioning of the 6" woofer ensures that you won't just hear bass, you'll feel it! This is excellent for providing you with an extended bass response to accurately reproduce low-frequency content, such as bass guitars or lower octaves of a digital piano. It faces directly forwards so the low frequency pulses around you help to generate an immersive sound. You'll certainly feel the benefit when practicing with an electronic drum kit. The sideKIK will make kick drums feel and sound just like the real thing!
What's more, the two 3.5" high-frequency tweeters have been carefully angled so it directs straight towards your upper body, making it the perfect floor monitor. The speakers innovative design doesn’t end here. The tweeters are offset away from each other to ensure maximum dispersion of the mid and high frequency spectrum. In short, you’re still going to get that same great sound, whether you’re directly in front of the speaker or whether you’re at the other side of the room. No compromise necessary.
The inclusion of EQ dials allow you to globally tweak the sound of the sideKIK's first and second inputs to adjust their tonality. The low-frequency band provides a gradual bump at 150Hz for body and presence (perfect for a bit more kick drum or bass guitar), whilst the high-frequency band at 7.5kHz offers an ultra-smooth sheen for "record-ready" results.
