Unique Non-Contact Drum Sensor Technology

The Digital Drums 480X Mesh Electronic Drum Kit by Gear4music is a high quality digital drum kit that features quiet and responsive mesh pads. The pads use a patented non-contact sensor which is attached to the bottom, instead of connected to the head of the drum like most other electronic drum pads. Vibrations in the head of the drum are picked up by the patented bottom sensor via a conductive layer in the middle of the mesh. This non-contact technology creates a highly detailed and responsive playing experience, allowing you to make full use of the module's large dynamic range, as you would expect from most high-end kits. Each pad is independently editable, allowing you to adjust how sensitive each pad is, meaning you have full control over the dynamics of the kit.

The DD480X benefits from having deeper drum pads than the DD470X, as well as larger 10" Snare and Floor Tom pads. These luxurious pads are built with wooden shells and come with a black sparkle wrap, much like you would find on an acoustic drum. Combined with the tuneable, responsive mesh heads, these pads feel more like there acoustic counterpart, providing a realistic drumming experience.

Great Practice Tool for Experienced Players and Beginners Alike

As well as featuring 30 great sounding preset kits, the DD480X has 38 songs built in to the module to play along with. Each element of the songs can be muted individually, meaning you are able to select what parts of the song you would like to learn and play along with. An ideal practice tool, you can fully adjust the tempo and slow down parts for practicing in detail before performing at full speed. For improving players the module also includes Coach Mode, which is specifically designed to hone your rhythm and timing skills. Play along with the module's built in metronome, and see how close to the beat your playing is on the module screen - great for keeping track of your improvement. In addition to this you are able to control the volume, panning and note division of the metronome, great for advanced players learning trickier parts. The DD480 module features sliders which allow you to easily change volumes of individual drums on the fly, great for quickly balancing levels of your customiseable preset kits.

Connectivity Suitable for Practice, Performance and Studio

With a versatile selection of inputs and outputs, the DD480X has multiple applications whether you are practicing, performing live or recording in the studio. A headphone output and Aux in makes this electronic kit ideal for quiet practice as well as playing along with your own tracks. Turn your practice into performance by plugging your kit into an amplifier or PA using the Mono or Stereo Jack outputs. The module connects to the pads via a loom with locking 4-pin connectors, this makes sure that the connection to each of the digital drum pads is reliable and secure.

The DD480X also features MIDI connectivity, with MIDI IN / OUT as well as USB connections. Make use of the detailed and responsive dynamic range with your VST software on MAC or PC, or use to trigger your favourite MIDI modules. The great sounding built-in drum kits can also be directly played into your software via an interface.
