The result is a tremendous level of headroom up to 118 dBA dynamic range, allowing you to capture even the most dynamic of an instrument, whether that's a vocal, piano or guitar.

For maximum flexibility, every input is individually switchable to the most common audio levels to integrate seamlessly into any setup including -10 dBV, +4 dBu, HiGain (equivalent to +2 dBV, +13 dBu and +19 dBu for digital full scale).

Professional high-transparency preamps

Boasting four highly-transparent preamps with low-latency converters, the RME Fireface 802 allows you to record in absolute authenticity your source tone. Using similar technology that was employed in the OctaMic II series, the 802 is perfectly suited for recording even the most demanding sessions such as classical orchestral concerts. An exceptionally linear frequency response, extremely low distortion and excellent signal-to-noise ratio are ideal for capturing and amplifying any audio input, be it high-level stage or typical studio signals, lower level and high-impedance instruments, or dynamic, condenser and ribbon microphones.

Constructed with combination XLR/TS sockets with Hi-Z options and a range of gain up to +60dB, you will be ready for any recording session that comes your way without the need for any external hardware or microphone preamps. Of course, each input can be individually switched to power +48V phantom power or instrument level, depending on your needs.
