The Fender Custom shop proudly introduces the vintage custom series for 2018, providing players with early, almost prototypical, transitional, and ''first rev'' versions of classic Fender guitars. Each model is equipped with prototypical components that either almost never saw the light of day or were apart of the instrument's development. The Vintage Custom series also features Fender’s ''Time Capsule’ aging package, combining their ''no buff'' New Old Stock flash coat lacquer with classic hardware to create the appearance, sound, and performance of an ultra-rare, pristine vintage guitar.
The Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster features a solid premium ash wood body, delivering a classic Fender ‘twang’ with sweet, airy tones. The lightweight ash provides the guitar with excellent resonance and sustain, offering firm lows, pleasing highs, and a scooped midrange. The Vintage Classic Fender is finished in a sunburst NOS flash coat lacquer, with its thin, porous, and delicate coating allowing the tonewoods to breath with their natural tonal character and resonance.
The Vintage Classic Strat features a sleek 1954 ‘’U’’ shaped neck profile and a compound radius fingerboard, providing an incredibly smooth playing experience which helped inspire new playing techniques and create beautiful expression. The maple neck infuses this Custom Shop Fender with a beautifully bright characteristic, tightening up the overall tones and delivering plenty of cut and bite. Using maple for both the neck and fingerboard provides players with a sharp, clear punch when the strings are hit hard, while light to medium picking brings out the subtler tones of the maple.
The Custom Shop Stratocaster features a trio of hand-wound ’55 strat pickups designed with alnico 3 magnets to produce authentic Fender tones with robust lows and crystal-clear highs. While the five-way switching and controls provide excellent tonal shaping, the special tone-saver treble-bleed circuit retains the high end crisp and clarity even at low volumes.
Along with its amazing tone and looks, the Custom Shop Strat also features a bone nut which adds to its classic aesthetic. The main purpose of using a bone nut, compared to modern materials, is the bone offers excellent resonance and sustain. A bone nut also delivers a very balanced tone and will last a long time. In addition, this type of nut naturally self-lubricates and helps the guitar to stay in tune for longer.
When many people think of an electric guitar, this is the one that leaps to mind. The Stratocaster is one of the world's most popular guitar and is an elegantly versatile creation. Not long after Fender revolutionised music with the Telecaster and the Precision Bass, in 1954 they debuted the Stratocaster and it quickly became universally regarded as the archetypal electric guitar. Sleek and stylish aesthetics, smooth playing and tonally versatile, at the heart the Stratocaster remains a fantastic instrument - producing unmistakable sound with a timeless design. A first choice among players worldwide, there is simply nothing that sings, screams, whispers, moans, roars, rocks and rolls like a Fender Stratocaster.
