Shimmering '50s sparkle
Highly sought-after by guitarists, the '53 Telecaster Time Capsule's hand-wound original black bridge pickups and hand-wound twisted Tele neck pickups produce a signature sound. The pickup located in the bridge offers clear and bright tones, making it an ideal choice for lead guitar playing. Its distinctive twang is widely recognised and adds a unique character to any performance. In contrast, the twisted Tele neck pickup produces warm and rich harmonics, perfect for rhythm guitar playing or creating a mellow sound.
This model offers more tonal options with its volume and tone controls, fat '50s wiring, and 3-position blade. Its wiring provides a natural and dynamic tone with improved clarity and definition, whilst the 3-position blade offers various tonal combinations, including the classic Telecaster sound created by both pickups in the middle position. With these features, you can shape your sound according to your preferred style, whether they're playing blues, rock, country, or any other genre of music.
Vintage style with a modern playability
Not only does this model boast a signature sound but is also designed with playability in mind. The neck, made of quartersawn maple, features a nitrocellulose lacquer finish with a 1954 U shape for added comfort. With its fingerboard crafted from high-quality maple, this guitar boasts a compound radius of 7.25"-9.5" and twenty-one narrow tall frets that make playing a breeze, providing the perfect platform for intricate solos and smooth chord changes. The medium-jumbo frets make it comfortable to play for extended periods, while the U shape of the neck provides excellent support for the hand, reducing hand fatigue.
The guitar's body is constructed of select ash wood, shaped like a Telecaster, providing excellent balance, and is finished in a faded Nocaster blonde colour, adding to its vintage appeal. The guitar features a classic 3-saddle bridge that allows for precise intonation, ensuring that every note rings out clearly. The Telecaster Time Capsule's playability is exceptional, making it an instrument that is perfect for both accomplished musicians and beginners alike.
A legendary model remade
The original 1953 Telecaster is widely considered one of the most iconic electric guitars of all time. It was the world's first commercially successful solid-body electric guitar, and its simple yet elegant design revolutionised the music industry. The guitar's signature twangy sound has been heard on countless hit records and is synonymous with rock and roll. The '53 Telecaster is also known for its durability and reliability, making it a favourite among professional musicians.
Given the original Telecaster's significance, it's no surprise that Fender's Custom Shop has created the '53 Telecaster Time Capsule as a tribute to this legendary instrument. This remodelled Tele is an excellent tribute to the original instrument that has inspired generations of musicians and continues to do so today.
