The sound of a fully-tested half stack tube amp is one that's cherished by guitarists everywhere. However, few have the opportunity to really push their amp to its limit. The Diamond Head changes the game altogether, providing all the gigantic, distorted tube tone in a pedalboard-friendly housing. So, whether you're at home, in the studio, or on stage - you can unleash the fierce tones of the '70 and '80s rock and metal scene without bringing the house down. And, with an integrated gain control, you can let loose with the power of your gritty sound. Pure hot-rodded tone.
Test its tonal caliber. The Seymour Duncan Diamond Head hosts two boost functions to really push your sound. The main boost switch is independent from the drive, offering up to 15dB of gain to use as a lead boost, or even to push your amp tone into overdrive. You can even slot it into your FX loop and use the Diamond Head as a high-gain preamp, unlocking a full-bodied sound with plenty of bite.
Next, the SAT switch. This pre-gain boost is based on Seymour Duncan's 805 overdrive, adding up to 24dB for a tighter overall sound. By rolling off lows and highs, the midrange is able to cut through the mix and produce a more textured driven tone. Boost and distortion pedals have always been an effective duo. And now, you needn't worry about taking up more space on your board, thanks to this practical two-in-one design.
When it comes to distortion pedal, the power of tone control can often be overlooked. Thankfully, Seymour Duncan have ensured that the Diamond Head hosts a powerful 3-band EQ for players to explore their tone's potential. A superbly-accurate bass control cuts and boosts at 80Hz, creating a huge low-end presence without sounding muddy. The midrange control is about as versatile as it gets. Set at 800Hz, players can switch between extreme scooped tones and prominent midrange punch in a matter of seconds. Finally, the treble function sits at 6kHz offering scorching lead tones, cut, and attack. Endless possibilities.
