Achieving a wide range of tones couldn't be easier with the Saturn-15VR. Thanks to the three fixed frequency bands you'll be a few tweaks from achieving your dream sound. All three EQ points were specifically chosen for their musicality to ensure your approach to sculpting feels instinctive. Instantly add weight to your sound with "bass", achieve presence with "middle" and apply the perfect finishing sheen with "treble". The inclusion of a "Tone" knob gives you control over the fidelity of your signal, lower values are great for "Lo-Fi" styles whilst higher values provide a thick, full-bodied sound.
When the Saturn-15VR is connected to your speaker cabinet "High" mode (15W) provides a powerful output that allows you to project your sound in small to medium sized performance spaces without needing the support of a microphone and PA. If you desire cranked amp tones at reasonable volumes then be sure to switch to "Low" mode (1W). This is ideal for home recording scenarios.
Perfect for pedal users, the SubZero Saturn-15VR Tube Amp Head includes an integrated FX loop. This gives you an incredible amount of control over your tone, allowing you to determine whether pedals in your chain are inserted pre-or post preamp. You'll find this particularly useful for separating your reverbs, delays and modulators from your distortion and overdrive pedals for maximum clarity, especially if you're a fan of rack-mounted effects as the loop helps to minimise the risk of signal degradation.
The Saturn-15VR boasts an all analog spring reverb. In contrast to digital, the best part of an analog reverb is your performances will never sound the same twice. The spring will respond to the way that you play, adding a unique sense of depth and dimension to your sound. When merged with the warmth and richness of valve amplification, achieving a broad range of tones using the 15VR couldn't be easier, from Brit Rock crunch to American high gain - any sound is just a couple of tweaks away.
At the rear of the head you'll find a reverb footswitch input (no pedal included), this will be a real asset when it comes to live performance. This allows you to switch between a dry/wet sound without having to touch the head.
When you're regularly recording and performing you need an amp head you can rely on. That's why the Saturn-15VR features protection guards on each corner, these help minimise the risk of bumps and knocks from compromising the head's performance, ensuring a solid, consistent sound without compromise. What's more, the four rubber feet on each corner of the base eliminate the possibility of undesirable vibrations and prevent the head from marking the surface it's placed on. The inclusion of a sturdy carry handle allows you to transport the Saturn-15VR from your car to the venue with absolute ease.
