The Vertex Steel String MKII Clean Drive Pedal is a slim and compact recreation of Dumble SSS tones. Designed to easily slot into your pedalboard and serve up a host of crystal-clear drive sonics, it will lend your performance new levels of expression. And that's because it's been built alongside a genuine #001 Dumble amp, offering you the authentic voicings and touch-sensitivity of the original.
The Steel String MKII Clean Drive can do it all - overdrives, fat boosts, compression and EQ tone shaping. With a simple and intuitive control layout, it's quick and easy to dial in the sound you're looking for, and with a Rock/Jazz switch you can add in extra high end sharpness or bass thickness to suit. Delivering the feel, tones, and vibes of a legendary amp in a size that can easily fit into a gig bag, the MKII Clean Drive will be a constant feature in your rig.

A legendary amp. Artistic icons like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Johnson and John Mayer have all championed the rare 100-watt 6L6 amplifier for its sought-after responsiveness, and now Vertex have captured the "Sparkle, Squish and Saturation" magic in the Steel String MKII Clean Drive pedal.
With just a few controls to choose from, it's super simple to dial in tones full of vintage mojo. Level, Gain and Filter set the base sound while a Jazz/Rock switch allows you add in extra zip in the trebles (Jazz) or snap in the bass (rock).
And while there's only a few controls, you can still draw out huge soundscapes from the one pedal. Roll off the Gain to use it as a clean boost, or crank the Gain to encourage "edge of breakup" style sounds. Turn the Gain to maximum and you'll generate red-hot, saturated sounds to bring your lead playing to life.
If you need extra headroom, then the Clean Drive will provide. Offering an optional 18V mode (adaptor not included), it's perfectly suited for studio use or pairing it with a vintage amplifier.
It's small, compact, and easy to fit on your board. And even better, the Steel String MKII's rugged, brushed metal casing and strong switches ensure it'll keep blasting out the vintage tonal goodness for years to come. Not only that, but it'll do it with complete consistency thanks to True Bypass switching, so your dry signal will remain completely unaffected when it's off.
