A Classic Vocoder Reimagined
The Behringer Vocoder VC340 Authentic Analog Vocoder is a modern day take on a vintage classic, utilising the same components that make the original so sought after. The VC340 is an authentic analog vocoder complete with human voice and string sounds from the late 80s.
Behringer have faithfully recreated a classic vocoder synth, staying true to the original with a range of enhancements and digital connectivity. This VP-330 style polyphonic synthesizer revolutionised the musical world, renowned for its pristine sounds, as well as the multiple-stage Chorus based on the legendary BBD technology.
From stage to the studio, the VC340 delivers stunning sound design capabilities with a range of performance features and modulation controls. It features 37 semi-weighted full-size keys with velocity sensitivity, providing flexible expression and fluid playability.
True Analog Circuitry
At the heart of the VC340 is an authentic analog signal patch, retaining the same warmth and grit that analog instruments are known for. The varied sound palette and intuitive controls make for a exciting playing experience. The vocoder was a revolutionary part of hip-hop and RnB music, bringing forth a way to synthesize vocals. It has since been used by legendary recording artists such as Phil Collins, Roger Troutman, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Daft Punk and more.
Multiple-Stage Chorus with BBD Technology
One of the things that sets the vocoder apart from conventional synthesizer is the multiple-stage chorus. Nothing fattens up a sound more than a powerful chorus effect, and the VC340 does not disappoint. Utilising authentic analog BBD (Bucket Brigade Delay) technology, the vocoder processes the sound signal across multiple stages. This results in a luscious and thick sound, ideal for use with the string section of the voice choir sounds.
In-Depth Control for Sound Design
With 32 sliders and switches, the VC340 allows you to get in-depth with your sounds. Providing real-time access to all the most important parameters, the control panel provides a hands-on approach to controlling sounds and effects.
Compact Design, Versatile Connectivity
Behringer have brought the classic Vocoder synthesizer into the modern world, with the inclusion of USB and MIDI connectivity. This allows you to use the VC430 with your DAW or other music software, ideal for incorporating classic sounds into modern music production. It also features a top panel microphone input, allowing you to modulate any audio signal. It also features a wide range of other connections including external synth input, control, headphone, audio out and more.
