These pianos have been recorded with specialized microphones, capturing locational information that your ears would naturally pick up from a piano of such quality.

The nearby strings reverberating when you play a note adds to the complexity and richness of the sound. You get this same effect thanks to the Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) used in the Clavinova CSP 150. This technology calculates the effects of all 88 notes from moment to moment. Next-level keyboard

Enjoy what this advanced keyboard can offer. This Yamaha Clavinova uses multiple techniques to produce the most authentic playing experience. So, the technique you practise on this instrument will be suitable for any other pianos you play, whether they're acoustic or digital. A Graded Hammer 3X Keyboard (GH3X) is crucial to this. It will give you the same resistance, which varies from the lower to the higher end of the keyboard, as an acoustic. In fact, the GH3X uses the same hammering system and spring-less mechanism as a concert grand, to really give you the key return you want.

You'll see authentic details down to the finest click. Few digital pianos go so far in their recreation as to produce the slight click that comes with an escapement mechanism. But, the Clavinova CSP 150 has an escapement mechanism in its keyboard too, which has been designed so its click is only discernible on the lightest keystrokes, just like a grand. More impressive touches are the keyboard stabilizers to all 88 keys, which are unique Yamaha mechanisms for improved keyboard stability and durability.

Extra digital perks

Going digital means you get more than a piano. You can really experiment with the CSP 150 digital thanks to its full orchestra of Yamaha's Super Articulation Voices. These instrument tones are sampled down to characteristics like the "fret noise" or "body knocks" from a guitar. They have the details so you'll sound like you're a virtuoso flautist or violinist. Get a taste of being a master of a new instrument.

Take this a step further with the Accompaniment Styles. Now you can get the feeling of being accompanied by anything from small jazz ensembles to full orchestras. Smart Pianist scans the audio songs loaded in your music library, analyses the chord progressions, and then displays them for you on the screen of your smart device. It's that simple. Play along as the chords scroll by, all the while hearing the song playback through your piano's speaker system. Loading MIDI songs into the app will also allow you to follow along with digital sheet music while you play.
