Triple-sensor keybed with advanced hammer mechanics

Perform every detail. The GDP-500's full-size, 88-note keybed lets your perform with expression and refinement - paired with an advanced sound engine that brings every sound alive. The GDP-500's piano key action features a physical hammer that's been carefully engineered to match the feel and weight of an acoustic instrument. When you press a key, the hammer moves and is detected by three individual sensors. Rapid keystrokes and tiny movements are detected in high detail to be fully expressed by the powerful digital sound engine. This is especially useful for fast playing, repeated notes and rapid trills – because the piano detects each key stroke much more accurately and in fuller detail than in a typical two-sensor system.

The keybed's action system also features an escapement structure, giving you the subtle "notch" feel of an acoustic instrument. While every key is finished with a fine, ivory-like feel, giving you the sensation of playing a classic concert grand instrument.

The sound engine is powered by a powerful 11-core digital processor. It gives you high-precision DSP effects and a massive polyphony voice count of up to 256 notes, for lusher sustain pedal sounds and refined detail when playing virtuosic and fast music. The powerful sound engine means your piano sounds include subtle details that bring your music to life. Subtle nuances, such as the frictional sound of the hammer touching and leaving the strings, adds more expression and liveliness to every note you play. It also gives you lossless-quality USB audio recording and 1,200 built-in sounds.

Versatile Functions and Effects

As well as having 1200 different voices, the GDP-500 offers a variety of functions and effects to keep you inspired when practicing and composing. The layer mode means you are able to layer two voices on top of each other to create richer sounds and make your pieces truly unique. The split mode means you are able to play the bottom half of the keyboard in a different voice, perfect for a bluesy walking bass line in the left hand. Also featured are brilliance, reverb and chorus effects, so you can thicker, brighter sounds as if you are in a concert hall! The GDP-500 has a DSP function, meaning you can combine all these effects at the touch of a button for instantly richer sounds.

The GDP-500 is the ideal instrument for students, with a fully adjustable metronome and the ability to play along with any of the 90 inbuilt songs in the left or right hand, at your own pace. This piano also offers 270 rhythm styles with fully adjustable tempo, meaning you can recreate some of your favourite rock, swing or bluegrass tracks and much, much more.
