Tube-Based Mastering Equalizer

The HLT 2AM from Tube-Tech is a high-end equalizer unit that delivers a new approach for equalisation. The HLT 2AM is a mastering version of the Tube-Tech HLT 2A, featuring stepped potentiometers for added precision and a more refined frequency range for the shelving and T-Filter. At the heart of the unit is combination of specially-picked tube diodes, designed to provide classic tube warmth with optimal audio fidelity. The HLT 2AM can be used for a variety of different applications, from treating vocal and instrument recordings to bringing out the best from your mixes. It combines high and low shelving EQ with high and low cut filters, complete with an innovative T filter. The resulting sound is warm with added character, breathing new life into any track or audio recording.

Specialised T-Filter

One of the most unique features of the HLT 2AM is the integrated ‘T-Filter’. This innovative filter works by ‘tilting’ the entire spectrum around a chosen midrange frequency. Once the frequency reaches your selected frequency, anything above that point is increased (or decrease), while the frequencies below are decreased (or increased) dependant on your settings. This unique filter, provides a new and powerful way to achieve pristine-sounding equalisation.

Low/High Shelving Controls

In addition to the T-Filter, the control panel features both high and low shelving EQ controls. The shelving EQ’s design are based around the high-gain tube amp, with the T-filter and hi/lo filters coming after the active shelving EQ, and before the output amp. The two shelving parameters a features precise pots with gain control ranging from +12dB to -12dB for maximum versatility. Each of the shelving filters also boasts a bypass switch for checking the effect.

Low/High Cut Filters

Also included is a pair of high/low cut filters designed for added precision when it comes to shaping your sound. The filters can be used for everything from removing unwanted low-end noise from vocal recordings to bringing out the high-end sparkle from a guitar recording. Each of the filter features a choice of five frequencies, with both filters featuring a slope of 6dB/octave.

Retro-Style Design

The vintage aesthetic the retro-style design provides is reminiscent of equalizers from the late 80s. It features plastic conductive potentiometers for controlling your parameters, staying true to its retro design. The gold-plated switches also add to the retro-style, adding a touch of class to the front-panel. It even features an overload indicator in the form of a large red LED light, providing an convenient visual indication of your levels.
