Key Features
The Drawmer 1969 MKII Dual Vacuum Tube Compressor/Pre-Amp is a boutique rack unit to improve the quality of your audio recordings. Designed in collaboration with mercenary Audio as a hybrid between vacuum tubes and solid-state parts, the Drawmer 1969 MKII delivers the authentic warmth and character of vintage analog preamplifiers. Ideal for a wide range of applications including studio recordings, live sound, field recordings or even post-production, the versatile Mic, Line and D.I inputs allow you to record anything from your favourite dynamic and condenser microphones, electric guitar, bass or even synthesizers and drum machines.
Featuring a versatile instrument preamplifier with an extremely low noise performance, passive EQ and brightness switch, you have the flexibility to shape the tone of your instrument to fit your mix with complete control. The microphone input stages utilise the tube amplifier signal to the fullest to allow your microphone to take on the characteristics of vintage microphones, adding the signature warmth and depth that simply is not possible with digital preamplifiers. The compressor section provides soft-knee compression with two valve stages in each audio path, with a switchable Attack and switchable Release time between three programme dependent settings.
Capable of adding a large amount of colouration onto your sound, the Drawmer 1969 MKII can be driven into overdrive using heavy compression to add an extra layer of aggressive and harmonics to your signal, perfect for driving rock vocal performances and exciting electric guitar riffs.

Originally based on Drawmers classic 1960 Mic Pre-Amp/Tube Compressor, the Drawmer MKII Dual Vacuum Tube Compressor/Pre Amp includes a number of exciting new features that contribute to a distinctive new sound.
The 1969 MKII enjoys a silky smooth sound thanks to the use of 'Burr-Brown' op-amps which give it a distinctive and instantly recognisable audio interpretation. The 1969 employs true Stereo Link operation with channel one's Threshold, Attack, and Release controls being master to both channels. In addition to these features, the 1969 Vacuum Tube Compressor Pre-Amplifier incorporates new tube circuits specifically engineered to add warmth to its mic/line signals. The instrument pre-amp has its own tube stage enabling classic overdrive effects when plugging in electric instruments such as guitar or bass, remaining true to the classic Drawmer 1960 design.
