High-End Mastering Equalizer

The SPL PQ is one of the most high-end mastering equalizers on the market. The dual-channel, five-band configuration gives you maximum reign over every frequency band, recreating your sound in immense detail. Basing its design on its predecessor (Model 2050), this 1540/1544 Model of the PQ Mastering Equalizer includes a range of enhancements and upgrades for added performance value. Each of the five bands can deactivated or activated, as well as giving you the ability to separately switch between Constant Q and Proportional Q. This innovative approach to the circuit hasn't been achieved by any other equalizer on the market.

120V Rail Technology

One of the most unique features of the SPL PQ is the optimised 120V Rail Technology. This high-end reference technology is twice the power of discrete op amps and four-time the power of semiconductor op amps. The Rail Technology provides outstanding technical and sonic performance, ensuring optimal audio quality at every step. The rail technology provides exceptional headroom and dynamic range for optimal detail and clarity. The result is natural sound that minimises hearing fatigue.

In-Depth Control

The SPL PQ Mastering Equalizer is one of the most versatile equalizers on the market, providing detented potentiometers that allow you to adjust parameters and Q in 41 steps. This allows you to easily recall settings, allowing you to adjust controls such as Gain, Frequency and Q with optimal precision. Also included is a 1/4 Gain Switch, which allows you to reduce maximum increase or attenuation of the amplitude by 3/4, regulating the potentiometer from +/- 20dB to +/-5dB cut. This allows you to make small corrections, ideal for mastering applications. Each channel can also be activated or deactivated using the Auto-Bypass parameter, allowing you to automate in a freely selectable time frame.

Link Mode

Designed primarily as an independent dual-channel equalizer, the SPL PQ is constructed to process two spate mono signals simultaneously. But you can also process a stereo signal by using the 'Link' button. This allows you to use both channels in tandem from the right channel for added versatility.

Design & Construction

The highly robust construction of the SPL PQ not only looks like a powerhouse but performs like one. The rack-mountable all-metal chassis is built-to-last, ensuring it will stand the test of time in any studio setting. The 3U-sized construction will fit in the centre of any studio rack, complementing any existing setup. The front-panel of the unit features precision potentiometers for each of the five-bands. Also included is switches for 1/4 gain as well as buttons for switching between Con Q and Prop Q. At the centre of the front-panel is an Internal potentiometer accompanied by an Auto-Bypass switch and the Link switch for processing stereo signals.
