The Burl B80 Mothership 80-Channel Configurable AD/DA Interface represents an innovative way of digital conversion. Allowing you to create a custom, modular converter system with up to 40 channels of A/D conversion or up to 80 channels of D/A conversion. Being a 4U, 10-slot empty chassis, this means you can install any combination of Burl A/D and D/A converter cards (sold separately). Included, is a 1U power supply giving ample power for the high-headroom and low noise converters, also giving you control over your signal's tone through gain staging.

With a sound strikingly close to an analog tape machine's front end and being able to shape your tone on how hot your signals hit the converters. Each A/D converter channel is transformer balanced, and the hotter the signal level the more saturated the signal becomes. Letting you shape your sounds like you can with analog equipment, with the added help of an extremely precise converter to capture the tone.

The Burl B80's modular design allows you to install any combination of 2, 4 or 8 channel converter modules for a really high I/O count. If you don't require 80 channels of conversion, Burl frequently release new modules to enhance the functionality of your B80.

The Burl B80's 1U power supply provides ample power for the high-headroom operation of the converter modules, which leads to virtually noise-free signal quality.
