Reference-grade sound for desktops and intimate spaces

Unlike conventional desktop monitors, the IN-UNF system doesn’t sacrifice sound quality for size. This specially-created monitor system is designed for desktops, flat surfaces and intimate spaces. Comprised of three units in total – two satellites and a bass unit; the system utilises two high-excursion 4.5-inch woofers as class-D amplification to deliver superior sound reproduction. The two satellite speaker units utilise the same coaxial midrange/tweeter as Kali Audio’s IN-5 and IN-8 studio monitors, delivering a full-bodied midrange and sparkling highs.

The two satellites sit on top of silicone isolation pads which de-couple the satellite units from your desktop/surface to eliminate any resonance/unwanted reflections. The spherical design allows you to adjust the angle, so you can aim the precisely toward your ears. The two woofers of the bass unit are horizontally opposed, ensuring no vibration is transferred to the desk or anything on top of the bass unit (such as a computer monitor). The ultra-nearfield design provides full-range audio performance, as close as up to 0.8 metres away – perfect for intimate spaces.

Powerful bass unit with a range of connections

The centerpiece of the system is the powerful bass unit that features 4.5-inch woofers and houses the system’s connections. Connect audio devices, computers, laptops, tablet and even smartphones via the USB-C input; supporting 24-bit/48kHz audio fidelity for studio-grade sound. You can even connect iOS devices via lightening connectors using Apple’s Camera Adapter Kit (not included).

It also features a dedicated volume control with a large dial for maximum precision when controlling your levels. Conserve power by using the ‘Sleep Switch’ to put the unit into standby mode for low-power operation, changing the LED to red. Balanced TRS inputs are included for use with external systems as well as 3.5mm and optical inputs for connecting audio gear, televisions and other devices.

Flexible design – multiple configuration options

With the system being designed for desktops, Kali Audio has optimised the design to allow you to configure the system in multiple ways. The various setup options allow you to make the most of the space you have. One of the setup options allows you to use the bass unit horizontally – acting as a riser for your computer monitor with the satellites on either side. You can also set the bass unit vertically, allowing you to place a laptop directly in front of it without the worry of unwanted vibrations. You can also do the same with a computer monitor, placing it in front of the vertically-aligned bass unit to take up less space on your desktop. You can also attenuate your sound, optimising it for various differing spaces using the onboard dip switches and trim controls.
