Handmade in California, the Bock 251 Tube Condenser Mic is the very best that Universal Audio has to offer. ¬Based on renowned 251 condenser microphones, the UA Bock 251 is David Bock’s own interpretation. Each microphone is assembled by hand at Universal Audio’s custom shop in Santa Cruz, California USA utilising the highest quality components. This microphone provides you with a smooth, open tone and the iconic “golden unit” mic sound.
It features a German make CK12 condenser capsule, a vintage style ECC85 amp tube, and a large output Cinemag transformer that gives you a wide frequency range from a high 18kHz to a deep 10Hz low-end response. It also features a high 118dB maximum SPL so you can record loud sources without distortion or damaging the microphone.

Exhibiting a multi-polar pattern switch, you can choose between a cardioid, omnidirectional or figure eight polar patterns to suit your recording application. Fitted with high-quality inner circuitry that provides excellent sonic isolation and reduces handling noise. Every microphone is individually quality checked after being hand wired to strict specifications set by David Bock, so you know that your equipment will provide you with excellent sound quality and long service life. The outer casing and mesh grille are made from high-quality metals, and the outside of the microphone is finished with a nostalgic and classy finish.
