Bucket brigade delay design
To produce the smoothest delay time shifts, Colour Copy was designed around the BBD (Bucket brigade delay) circuitry. When shifting delay rates, Colour Copy changes the internal sample rate, passing the delay into the next "bucket" of the circuit, resulting in an ultra-smooth transition. This is advantageous over traditional delays as they will produce unmusical glitches when delay time and feedback is shortened or lengthened. The Colour Copy is the perfect option for modern sound designers looking for a flexible delay that can produce musical and smooth transitions when modulated or automated for interesting and unique soundscapes, perfect for contemporary film scoring.
Add some colour to your tone
Packing a huge range of functions into one single dial, the colour knob lets you traverse the entire range of classic bucket-brigade delays, from low frequency rumbling to the screaming character of high resonance. Finely tuned, the colour knob is set into five steps to swipe through a range of tones and character that each add a subtle change in your tone, from frequency loss, noise and dynamics, there will be something for everyone.
For further control over the amount of colour in your tone, a saturation knob works in tandem with the colour knob to dial in how prominent or subtle these characteristics are. Blend the saturation to sit the colour further back in your mix, giving the natural sound of the Colour Copy to shine through, or crank it up to add a new world of flavour in your sound. If you using the Colour Copy on a dark sound source, a handy brightness knob lets you adjust the bandwidth of the colour to add rich harmonics to a targeted frequency range, perfect for lifting instruments to the forefront of your mix.
Flexible delay settings
Truly a must-have for all sound designers, Colour Copy is capable of a huge variety of different delay types and styles. With the huge range of time from 1ms to 1s, you have the ability to create anything from tight, doubling effect to spacious and cavernous delays. It's not just the delay time flexibility that lets you dial in a wide range of tones, the stereo/mono routing lets you create ping-pong effects to jump between speakers, perfect for creating an atmosphere in single instrument sections or to add tension in your build-ups. Flex your creative flair with the Colour Copy's left and right output taps, place them at any point in the delay line to move repeats independently. This can create the ping-pong and rushed delay repeats as well as stereo chorus or flanger effects. Get out of your creative rut with boring mono delays and experiment with new and exciting ways to freshen up your tracks.
