Often described as a bugle with valves, the wider bore of the Flugel Horn by Gear4music is partly responsible for the gorgeous dark sound it produces. With monel piston valves as standard and a tuning in the key of Bb, this instrument is the ideal crossover instrument for many brass players. As a second instrument for trumpet or cornet players, this instrument is a great addition to a collection for those occasional gigs where the "flugel" is needed.
The Gear4music Flugel Horn includes features often only found on higher-level horns such as a 3rd trigger and tuneable leadpipe. This aids intonation on lower notes that can quite often be trickiest for flugel horn players. This instrument has been carefully developed by some of the finest brass manufacturers and the result is one of true quality.
The Flugel Horn has made its way in to many different ensembles. From jazz groups and brass bands, to wind bands and even occasionally the orchestra, the flugel horn has become a diverse and widely accepted instrument.
Included with this flugel horn is a hard case that is suitable for storing and carrying the instrument between rehearsals and concerts. Also included is a mouthpiece, which is suitable for the instrument and allows for easy access of both high and low notes.
